The winner of this year’s Havel’s Briefcase competition is Jan Míšek with his text Navoněný lunchmeat.
Jan is a graduate of the BA Theatre and Education programme and is currently studying first year Drama Directing.
The second place went to Magdalena Fialová with her briefcase When it rains and dries, the third place went to Helena Rychlík with her text KOS.
The winning play impressed with its stylized absurdity and topical relevance. Jan Šotkovský, a member of the jury, said:
“This surreal pun unmasks the emptiness of contemporary ideologies and platitudes through the bizarre microcosm of a rural ‘Michelin’ restaurant. The central theme is the domination of form over content.“
